Best resources and techniques on training a puppy.

Hello Everyone,

Training a puppy can be both rewarding and challenging! And let me tell you honestly, I had personally gone through a few hardships training my dog.

I used to ask my friends those who had dogs and probably look at the resources on the websites and refer to a few books, which I did and had implemented on my beloved fur friend.  There are many excellent resources available to help you train your puppy effectively. Here are some of the best ones:-

  •  "The Art of Raising a Puppy" by the Monks of New Skete
  • "Perfect Puppy in 7 Days: How to Start Your Puppy Off Right" by Dr. Sophia Yin
  • "The Puppy Primer" by Patricia B. McConnell and Brenda Scidmore

Online Courses:

  •  Websites like Udemy, Coursera, or Teachable often have courses on puppy training.
  • Many professional dog trainers offer online courses or webinars.

YouTube Channels:

  •  Zak George's Dog Training Revolution
  • Kikopup
  • Stonnie Dennis
  • McCann Dog Training
  • Victoria Stilwell Positively

Websites and Blogs:

  •  ASPCA Puppy Training
  • American Kennel Club (AKC) Puppy Training
  • The Whole Dog Journal
  • Dr. Sophia Yin's website

Local Dog Training Classes:

  •  Look for puppy training classes offered by reputable trainers in your area.
  • These classes often provide hands-on instruction and socialization opportunities for your puppy.

Positive Reinforcement Techniques:

Positive reinforcement is one of the most effective methods for training puppies.

Reward-based training encourages good behaviour through treats, praise, and play.

Avoid punishment-based methods, as they can harm the bond between you and your puppy.

Consistency and Patience:

Consistency is key when training a puppy. Establish clear rules and routines and stick to them. Be patient with your puppy. Remember that they are learning and may make mistakes along the way.

By combining information from these resources with patience, consistency, and lots of love, you'll be well on your way to raising a well-behaved and happy puppy!
